Littlejohn (Tex) and Horrell (Por) win monthly award
The Batter of the Month award in the American League 
goes to Texas' <a href=p29.html>Henry Littlejohn</a> 
this time, as the designated hitter displayed the best 
offensive perfomance in his league. Henry went 40 for 
94 (.426), while hitting 7 HR and collecting 34 RBI. 
Henry is hitting .341 this year, with 133 hits in 390 
at bats. He has driven in 97 runs, slugging .623. It's 
the 1st time that the National League Batter of the 
Month award goes to Portland's first baseman <a href=p607.html>Arthur 
Horrell</a>. In 105 at bats he hit .514 with 4 HR and 
22 RBI. While compiling an on base percentage of .412, 
Arthur hit .375 and slugged .506. He has collected 
78 runs batted in this year. He's 3rd in the National 
League in batting!
